Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold Reaches FCC Ahead of August 12 Launch

The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold has surfaced in the FCC's certification database, one of the last regulatory stops a phone makes before going on sale in the United States. The filing, spotted by Android Authority, arrives about a month before Google's Pixel launch event on August 12, and it firms up what has until now been a story built mostly on leaks.

What the FCC listing shows
The database entry covers a Google phone with the model number GZDQ6, which lines up with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. FCC filings never include marketing names, but the testing documents make the phone's identity hard to miss: the device was tested in both "Open mode" and "Closed mode," language that only makes sense for a foldable.

The confirmed radio hardware
According to the documents, the phone supports Bluetooth, LTE, NFC, Ultrawideband, and Thread. Ultrawideband matters for precision finding of trackers and digital car key features, while Thread support points to a bigger role in smart home control. The filing also confirms the foldable will be hearing aid compatible.

Why FCC certification matters
A phone cannot ship in the US without FCC approval, so a completed filing is a reliable sign that hardware is final and mass production is underway or close to it. Certification this far ahead of the August 12 event suggests Google's launch schedule is on track.

The August 12 Pixel event
Google has sent invitations for its Pixel launch event on August 12, where the company is expected to present the full Pixel 11 lineup: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Reports indicate the foldable may reach stores later than its siblings, with an October retail date mentioned, though Google has not confirmed availability timing. Full details of the filing are in the Android Authority report.

What still is not confirmed
The FCC filing covers radios, not specs. Display sizes, the chipset, camera hardware, and pricing all remain unannounced. Earlier reporting has pointed to the Tensor G6 chip across the Pixel 11 family, but that detail stays in the rumor column until Google says so on stage.

Get your Pixel ready for the fall
Whether you are holding out for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold or keeping a current Pixel through the launch season, a fitted case protects the phone that carries you there. Komodoty makes slim cases for Google Pixel phones in aramid fiber and slim wood with a Kevlar core, with precise cutouts and wireless charging support.
