iOS 26.4 Hotspot Data Tracking
The iPhone 17 Pro Max running iOS 26.4 adds a practical Personal Hotspot update that makes it easier to track data use by each connected device.
What changed in iOS 26.4
In iOS 26.4, the Personal Hotspot page in Settings now shows a per-device breakdown of hotspot usage. This is aimed at anyone who relies on hotspot for a MacBook, iPad, or a second phone and needs tighter control over a limited data plan.
Where to find hotspot data usage
Open Settings → Personal Hotspot, then scroll to the bottom to find a Data Usage option. Open Data Usage to see how much hotspot data each device has used.
This Data Usage option only appears after you've used Personal Hotspot recently. If you do not see it, connect a device to your hotspot and check again later.
How to reset the totals
To reset hotspot data totals, reset your overall cellular usage stats in Settings → Cellular. Resetting the device's cellular statistics also clears the hotspot breakdown.
Why this matters day to day
This change is especially useful if you share hotspot with other people. Instead of guessing where your monthly data went, you can spot which device used the most and adjust habits before you hit limits.
If you're cross-shopping devices like the Galaxy S26 Ultra or Pixel 10 Pro, hotspot tracking is one of those small daily-use details that can matter as much as camera module size, display refresh rate, or battery capacity. It also pairs well with frequent travel setups where wireless charging is used constantly, and MagSafe compatibility depends on the case you use rather than the phone itself.
If you're using an iPhone 17 Pro Max and want a case that fits cleanly for daily carry, browse the latest Komodoty iPhone cases and use code 10OFF for 10% off your first order.
