Vivo X500 Pro Max Debuts With 200MP Zoom Camera and 8,000mAh Battery
The Vivo X500 Pro Max has launched in China as the top model in Vivo's X500 series and the brand's new camera flagship. The phone pairs a 200MP telephoto lens with Zeiss-developed stabilization and a large main sensor, alongside Vivo's biggest battery yet.
Pricing in China
The X500 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,999, or roughly $1,045 at current exchange rates. The X500 Pro is priced near $970 and the standard X500 near $830. At that price, the X500 Pro Max undercuts some rival 200MP-camera flagships at launch while sitting at the top of Vivo's own lineup. Vivo has said the X500 series will get a global release but has not given a date or pricing outside China.
A 200MP telephoto with gimbal-level stabilization
The headline camera feature is a 200MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, built with Zeiss and tuned for what Vivo calls gimbal-level stability during video and stills. The main camera uses a 50MP, 1/1.28-inch sensor based on Sony's Lytia 910 sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens rounds out the rear array.
Video up to 8K
The X500 Pro Max records 4K video at up to 240 frames per second for slow motion, along with full 8K capture, putting its video specs ahead of most rivals in the segment.
2nm chip and an 8,000mAh battery
Vivo built the X500 Pro Max around the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, made on a 2nm process. The phone packs an 8,000mAh battery, which Vivo says is the largest it has fitted into a phone so far.
Display and software
The X500 Pro Max has a 6.85-inch AMOLED display at 3168 x 1440 resolution. It ships with OriginOS 7 running on Android 17.
A camera-first lineage
Vivo has partnered with Zeiss on camera tuning since the X60 series, and each X-series generation has pushed zoom range and sensor size further. The X500 Pro Max continues that pattern with its largest main sensor and longest telephoto reach yet in the lineup.
What's next
Vivo has not said when the X500 Pro Max will reach markets outside China or how it will be priced there, but the brand's past X-series phones have typically followed their China launch into India, Southeast Asia, and parts of Europe within a few months.
