Apple Watch Series 12 Rumored to Get Sensor Built Into the Band

The Apple Watch Series 12, expected to launch in September 2026, may hide one of its biggest upgrades inside the band rather than the case itself, according to a new claim from leaker Kosutami. The rumor points to a health sensor injection-molded directly into the silicone Sport Band, a design neither Samsung nor Google currently uses on their own smartwatches.

Kosutami's post says Apple hasn't yet figured out how to fit the same sensor into other band materials, meaning the feature could be limited to the basic fluoroelastomer band for now. Apple has previously been reported to be experimenting with external sensors for hydration tracking and muscle movement sensing, though the leaker doesn't specify which of these the Apple Watch Series 12 band sensor is meant to measure.
