OnePlus 15 Launches in China: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 7,300mAh Battery
The OnePlus 15 is now official in China, going on sale October 28 with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, a 7,300mAh battery, and a 165Hz display. Alongside it, OnePlus also launched the Ace 6, a sibling model with an even bigger cell, as the brand's first major flagship push since the OnePlus 13.
OnePlus 15 price and availability
The OnePlus 15 starts at CNY 3,999 (roughly $560) for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in China, rising to CNY 5,399 for the top 16GB/1TB configuration. It went on sale October 28 in Absolute Black, Misty Purple, and Sand Dune. OnePlus hasn't announced official global pricing or a release date yet, though a worldwide launch is widely expected within the next few weeks.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance
Power comes from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It's the newest flagship silicon from Qualcomm, positioning the OnePlus 15 as one of the first phones built around the chip.
A 165Hz display built for speed
The OnePlus 15 uses a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED panel at 1.5K resolution with a 165Hz peak refresh rate, a spec usually reserved for gaming phones. The BOE-made panel is designed to keep scrolling and gameplay smooth without compromising color accuracy.
Battery and charging
A 7,300mAh battery sits at the center of the phone, backed by 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. That capacity is a notable jump for a standard flagship and should comfortably carry most users through a full day of heavy use.
A new DetailMax camera system
OnePlus swapped its longtime Hasselblad tuning for a new in-house engine called DetailMax (branded Lumo in China), paired with a triple 50MP rear setup covering primary, ultrawide, and telephoto duties, plus a 32MP front camera. It's the first OnePlus flagship in years without the Hasselblad name attached, a shift the brand is framing as a move toward processing it controls entirely in-house.
Storage and memory options
The OnePlus 15 scales from 12GB to 16GB of RAM and 256GB up to 1TB of storage, giving buyers room to pick a configuration without stepping up to a pricier Pro-tier model. OnePlus is pricing the jump between tiers in CNY 300 to CNY 400 increments, keeping the spread between the base and top configuration relatively tight.
The OnePlus Ace 6 sibling
OnePlus also launched the Ace 6, also known as the OnePlus 15R in some markets, on October 30. It runs the older Snapdragon 8 Elite chip but packs an even larger 7,800mAh battery with 120W wired charging, though it skips wireless charging. The Ace 6 pairs that battery with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display at the same 165Hz refresh rate as the OnePlus 15, plus a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 16MP selfie camera.
A cheaper flagship than its predecessor
The OnePlus 15's CNY 3,999 starting price is about 17% below the OnePlus 13's China launch price of CNY 4,799, even with a newer chipset and a larger battery. Cross-country comparisons can be unreliable because of local taxes and import costs, but the China pricing alone suggests OnePlus is leaning on value to stand out against Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi's own late-2026 flagships.
