Samsung Teases Galaxy Z Fold 8 New Shape in Spider-Man Ad

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 just got its most public tease yet, in a two-minute cinematic ad made in partnership with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The spot closes on the line "a brand new shape for a brand new day," a direct nod to the wider foldable Samsung has been rumored to launch for months. Everything in it points to the July 22 Galaxy Unpacked event.

A wider Fold, held back for launch
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 appears in the ad almost entirely blurred out. Based on current reporting, the phone will be shorter and a bit wider when closed than earlier Folds, and open up to a screen with noticeably more horizontal space, which should make watching video more comfortable. One scene shows Peter Parker tossing broken, abused phones into a cardboard box; another has the Flip 8 opened and closed with the kind of fury usually reserved for the worst phone calls.
