Apple Wallet Digital ID Expands

Apple Wallet Digital ID now has a new use beyond TSA checkpoint identity checks.

Apple has updated its Digital ID feature so it can be used for adult age verification in selected Apple Account and Apple services flows.

Apple now says Digital ID can also be used to confirm that a user is an adult in certain Apple Account and Apple services situations.

These prompts may appear when creating a new Apple Account, updating device software, changing selected safety settings, or downloading or buying apps with an 18+ age rating.

Apple notes that a Digital ID in Apple Wallet created with a U.S. passport can be used for adult confirmation regardless of country or region.
