iPad Air M4 and iPad Mini Both Drop to Record-Low Prices

The iPad Air with the M4 chip dropped to $649 for the 11-inch, 128GB Wi-Fi model during Amazon's October Prime Big Deal Days sale, $100 off its usual $749 price. The iPad mini also saw a cut during the same event, falling to $499 for the 128GB model, $100 off its $599 starting price, giving shoppers a rare window to pick up either Apple tablet below list price.

iPad Air M4 pricing
The 11-inch iPad Air with M4, Wi-Fi, and 128GB of storage fell to $649 from $749. The 256GB version dropped to $749 from $849, and the Wi-Fi plus cellular 128GB configuration fell to $799 from $899. The larger 13-inch iPad Air also saw cuts, with the 128GB Wi-Fi model at $849 (from $949) and the 256GB model at $949 (from $1,049).

iPad mini pricing
The iPad mini with the A17 Pro chip fell to $499 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model, down from $599. The 256GB version dropped to $599 from $699, the 512GB model to $799 from $899, and the Wi-Fi plus cellular 128GB configuration to $649 from $749.

What the iPad Air offers
The 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air both run on Apple's M4 chip, giving the lineup enough power for multitasking, photo and video editing, and most of the workloads people used to reserve for a laptop. Storage runs from 128GB up through 256GB on the discounted configurations, with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi plus cellular options on both sizes.

What the iPad mini offers
The current iPad mini carries Apple's A17 Pro chip, the same silicon family found in recent iPhone Pro models, which makes the smallest iPad in Apple's lineup capable of far more than note-taking and video calls. Storage options on sale ranged from 128GB up to 512GB.

Where the deals ran
Both sets of discounts were live at Amazon for the October Prime Big Deal Days event, alongside cuts on other Apple tablets including the entry-level 11-inch iPad with the A16 chip, which fell to $399 from $449.

Buying either tablet now
With Apple widely expected to update the iPad mini with an OLED display before the end of the year, the current A17 Pro model's price cut gives budget-minded buyers a chance to get in before that happens, while the iPad Air remains the better pick for anyone who wants a larger screen and more processing headroom for the same general price range.
