Article: Motorola Edge 70 Max Launches July 15 in India With 7,100mAh Battery

Motorola Edge 70 Max Launches July 15 in India With 7,100mAh Battery

The Motorola Edge 70 Max arrives in India on July 15, and Motorola has already confirmed most of the hardware ahead of the event. The launch is set for 12PM IST, with sales running through Flipkart and Motorola's own India store. After the Edge 70 Pro drew attention for its battery life earlier this month, the Max model pushes the same formula further up the spec sheet.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 performance
The Edge 70 Max runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Motorola claims an AnTuTu score above 3 million, which puts the phone in flagship territory for raw performance, and the chip handles on-device AI processing as well.

A Quad HD+ display rated at 7,000 nits
The panel is a Quad HD+ 10-bit LTPO AMOLED with a dynamic 144Hz refresh rate and DCI-P3 color coverage. Motorola quotes a peak brightness figure of 7,000 nits and rates the screen for 120fps gaming in supported titles. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i covers the front. Motorola calls the Quad HD+ resolution a first for this segment.

7,100mAh battery with 90W wired charging
The Edge 70 Max carries a 7,100mAh battery, one of the largest fitted to a mainstream flagship this year. Wired charging tops out at 90W TurboPower, so short top-ups should go a long way even with a cell this size.

Magnetic wireless charging
Motorola also claims the category's only fast magnetic wireless charging solution, reported to be built on the Qi2 standard. Magnets in the phone align it with compatible chargers and mounts, an approach that has so far been rare outside Apple's lineup.

ActivMesh cooling and a flat design
Sustained performance is handled by Motorola's ActivMesh cooling system with a 5,000mm² vapor chamber, which the company says limits throttling under heavy load. The design moves away from the curved screens of earlier Edge phones: official renders show flat sides, an aluminium frame, and a glass back.

Availability and what we still don't know
Sales open on July 15 through Flipkart and Motorola India's online store. Indian pricing had not been announced at the time of writing, and camera details remain to be confirmed at launch. The full confirmed spec rundown is at GSMArena.

A case ready for the Motorola Edge 70 Max
A phone with a battery and camera package this size deserves protection that doesn't add bulk. Komodoty makes slim cases for Motorola phones in materials like aramid fiber and slim wood with a Kevlar core, with precise cutouts and full wireless charging support — a good match for a magnetic-charging flagship like the Edge 70 Max.
