Motorola Edge 70 Plus Launches With 200MP Camera and Big Battery

Motorola Edge 70 Plus has landed at IFA 2026 with a 200MP main camera, making it the highest-resolution camera Motorola has put on a phone. The launch places Motorola alongside a small group of phone makers pushing past the 100MP mark, and pairs the new sensor with a larger battery and a brighter display, positioning the Motorola Edge 70 Plus as the brand's most camera-focused release in years.

A 200MP main camera
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus pairs its 200MP, f/1.8 main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 10x super zoom, and 4K video capture. The sensor bins 16 pixels into one for a default 12.5MP output in most shooting conditions, with the full 200MP mode available when a photographer wants to crop in tight without losing detail. A 2MP macro lens and a 32MP selfie camera round out the setup, giving the phone a well-rounded kit for both stills and video.

Display and design
Up front is a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel running at 144Hz with HDR10+ support, giving the Motorola Edge 70 Plus a noticeably smoother scroll and brighter outdoor visibility than last year's model. The higher refresh rate should also make a difference for anyone who games or watches video on the device regularly.

Battery life
Motorola bumped the battery to 6,500mAh, a sizable jump aimed at multi-day use for anyone who leans on the camera and display throughout the day. Pricing and availability
UK pricing starts at £499.99 for the 128GB configuration and rises to £529.99 for 256GB. In the EU, the 8GB RAM/128GB model is priced at €529, with the 256GB version at €599. Motorola says the phone will be available to order over the coming weeks, with wider retail availability expected to follow shortly after the initial online launch.
