Motorola Signature Announced at CES 2026

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Motorola didn’t just tease foldables, it quietly launched a new flagship smartphone positioned to compete with high-end Android devices from Samsung and OnePlus. This phone is called the Motorola Signature, and it showcases a refreshed approach for the brand in the traditional (non-foldable) space.

Design and Hardware

  • Slim, lightweight build — Motorola Signature has a 6.9 mm profile and weighs about 186 g, giving it a premium feel without excess bulk.

  • Display — A large 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED panel with peak brightness over 6,000 nits and a high refresh rate (likely 165 Hz) powers everyday use with sharp visuals and fluid motion.

  • Durability — The device includes IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, uncommon in many flagship phones outside the US.

Performance and Battery

  • Processor — Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (the top-tier chip for Android devices in 2026) underpins performance, ensuring fast app loading, sustained gaming, and efficient multitasking.

  • Battery — A 5,200 mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 90 W TurboPower fast charging, balancing capacity with a slim body.

Camera and Imaging

  • Triple 50 MP setup — Quality Sony sensors cover wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto shots, supported by Moto AI enhancements.

  • Front camera — A 50 MP selfie camera handles video calls and social shots with strong detail.

Software and Updates

  • Moto AI + Android 16 — Motorola integrates its AI ecosystem with Android 16, aimed at smarter contextual suggestions and device coordination.

  • Seven years of OS updates — That’s on par with Apple and Google for long-term support — a big shift for Motorola’s update promise in Android.

Availability and Pricing

  • Price — Expected to start around €999 (~$1,170) in Europe.

  • Launch markets — Motorola is rolling this out in Europe, Latin America, India, and other regions first. Crucially for US buyers: there’s no US launch confirmed right now.

This isn’t a rebrand of a Moto G or Edge series device — it’s a full-tilt flagship meant to revisit high-end Android territory that the brand has struggled with recently. Specifications stack up well against comparable Android devices from Samsung and others of its class.
