Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro: 200MP Camera, 7,000mAh Battery, India Launch July 2

The Oppo Reno 16 Pro is rolling out beyond China, with the wider Reno 16 series heading to global markets and an India launch set for July 2. It leads with a 200MP camera and a large battery, two specs that stand out in the upper-mid-range tier.

A camera built around 200MP
The Oppo Reno 16 Pro uses a 200MP main sensor, joined by a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and optical stabilisation. That telephoto reach is unusual at this price and gives the phone real flexibility for portraits and distant subjects.

Display
The phone has a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel at 2772x1272 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. The flat design is easier to fit with screen protectors and cases than the curved panels Oppo used in earlier Reno phones.

Battery and charging
A 7,000mAh battery is the headline number here, paired with 80W wired charging. That capacity is well above most rivals and should push the Reno 16 Pro past a single day of heavy use.

China versus global hardware
One detail to watch: the China model runs MediaTek's Dimensity 9500s, while early reports say the global variant steps down to the Dimensity 8550 Super. Buyers outside China should treat the chipset as a likely change rather than a guarantee until Oppo confirms each market's spec sheet.

Pricing and availability
In China the Reno 16 Pro starts at CNY 4,499 (about $660) for 12GB/256GB. Oppo has already brought the series to markets including Thailand and Malaysia, where the Pro lists around THB 26,999, with European pricing reported near €1,099 for the 12GB/512GB model. India gets the lineup on July 2, and a standard Reno 16 and a Reno 16F round out the range.

Other hardware
The Reno 16 Pro also brings stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an IR blaster, along with high IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water. That mix makes it one of the better-equipped phones in its class on paper.

Where it fits
The Oppo Reno 16 Pro aims at buyers who want flagship-style cameras and battery life without a true flagship price. The 200MP sensor, the periscope telephoto, and the 7,000mAh battery are the three specs most likely to win people over. More detail is on GSMArena.

Protect your Oppo Reno 16 Pro with a Komodoty case
A phone with a 200MP camera module and a glass back deserves a case with accurate cutouts. Komodoty makes fitted cases for Oppo phones in aramid fiber, Alcantara, and slim wood with a Kevlar core, with precise port and camera openings and wireless charging support.
