Article: Ted Lasso Leads Apple TV Returns

Ted Lasso Leads Apple TV Returns

Apple TV is bringing back two of its most acclaimed comedy series, with Ted Lasso season 4 and The Studio season 2 both on the way.

The two shows are important for Apple’s streaming service because both have earned major awards recognition. Ted Lasso helped define Apple TV’s early comedy success, while The Studio quickly became one of its strongest recent titles.

Ted Lasso Season 4 Release

Ted Lasso season 4 premieres Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with one episode. New episodes are scheduled to follow weekly through October 7, 2026.

Jason Sudeikis returns as Ted, joined again by Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift.

The new season sends Ted back to Richmond, where he takes on a different challenge: coaching a second division women’s football team.

A New Direction For Richmond

The season 4 story moves the series into a new part of the club’s world. Instead of simply repeating the original AFC Richmond setup, the new season shifts the focus toward a women’s team and a fresh competitive setting.

Jack Burditt also joins the creative team, working with Sudeikis on the writers room. His comedy background includes shows such as 30 Rock, Modern Family, and Nobody Wants This.

The Studio Season 2 Is Also Coming

The Studio season 2 is expected later in 2026 on Apple TV. Apple has not confirmed a specific release date.

The show’s first season became a major awards performer, winning Outstanding Comedy Series at the Emmys and Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes.

Season 2 is currently in production and is expected to include more Hollywood cameos. Madonna, Julia Garner, Donald Glover, and Michael Keaton have reportedly been spotted filming.

Why These Returns Matter

Apple TV has built its brand around original series rather than a large back catalog. That makes returning award-winning shows especially important for keeping subscribers engaged.

Ted Lasso gives Apple TV a familiar global hit, while The Studio gives it a newer comedy with strong critical momentum.

Apple TV Subscription Details

Apple TV is currently listed by Apple at $12.99 per month in the United States after a seven-day free trial. It is also included in Apple One bundles.
