Article: Vivo V80 Launches Globally With 144Hz Display and 7,200mAh Battery

Vivo V80 Launches Globally With 144Hz Display and 7,200mAh Battery

The vivo V80 is moving past its home market, with vivo confirming the phone for Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions after its India launch the week before. The vivo V80 pairs a 144Hz AMOLED display with a periscope telephoto camera and a 7,200mAh battery, putting it ahead of most phones in its class on battery size.

Display
The vivo V80 uses a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel at 1260x2750 resolution, with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness vivo lists at 5,000 nits, a figure aimed at keeping the screen readable in direct sun.

Chipset and memory
Inside is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage options run from 128GB up to 512GB, giving buyers room to pick a configuration based on how much they shoot and save locally.

Camera system
The rear setup pairs a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization alongside a 50MP periscope telephoto, also with OIS, for 3x optical zoom. An 8MP ultrawide rounds out the back, and a 50MP selfie camera sits up front. The periscope telephoto at this price point is the standout, since 3x optical zoom with OIS is usually reserved for pricier phones.

Battery and charging
A 7,200mAh battery backs the vivo V80, paired with 90W wired charging. That capacity sits well above the 5,000 to 5,500mAh range common on mid-range phones, which should translate into noticeably longer time between charges for most users.

Where it's launching
vivo sold the V80 in India first. The brand has now announced it for Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with other regions to follow, though it hasn't shared specific release dates for those markets yet. The staggered rollout is typical for vivo's V series, which usually reaches South and Southeast Asia before expanding further.

Pricing
vivo hasn't published a single global price for the V80. Pricing will vary by market, following the pattern vivo typically uses when it rolls a phone out region by region rather than all at once. Buyers outside India will want to wait for local retailers to list the phone before comparing it against other mid-range options in their own market.

Who it's for
The vivo V80 is aimed at buyers who want a long-lasting mid-range phone without giving up a capable camera. The combination of a large battery, a bright 144Hz display, and a periscope zoom camera is still uncommon outside flagship phones, which is what makes the V80's positioning notable for this segment.

Protect your vivo V80 with a Komodoty case
A phone built around a periscope camera module needs a case that lines up with it precisely. Komodoty makes cases for the vivo V80 in materials such as slim wood with a Kevlar core, aramid fiber, and Alcantara, with accurate cutouts for the camera array and the charging port.
