Google Pixel Tag Arrives With UWB Support and a $29 Price

The Google Pixel Tag is official, a $29 item finder built to compete directly with Apple's AirTag. Google announced the tracker at its Made by Google event on August 12, 2026, though it won't reach stores until later this year.

Price and availability
The Google Pixel Tag costs $29 for a single unit or $99 for a four-pack. It goes on sale through the Google Store on November 11, 2026, in a single color called Light Fog.

UWB support for precise finding
Google confirmed the Pixel Tag supports Ultra-Wideband, letting compatible Android phones point toward a lost item with distance and direction, similar to how Apple's Precision Finding works with the AirTag.

Built to last a year on one battery
Google rates the Pixel Tag for up to a year of battery life, and the battery is user-replaceable rather than sealed inside.

Stainless steel and water resistance
The tag is made from stainless steel designed to resist flexing and cracking, and it carries an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.

Works through Google's Find Hub network
The Pixel Tag connects to Google's Find Hub network, using nearby Android phones to help locate a tagged item when it's out of Bluetooth range.

Bluetooth Channel Sounding
Beyond UWB, the Pixel Tag also supports Bluetooth Channel Sounding, a newer standard that improves distance accuracy on phones without UWB hardware.

How it compares to Apple's AirTag
At $29 for a single unit, the Pixel Tag is priced in line with Apple's AirTag, and the two trackers now offer a similar mix of UWB precision finding, a wide phone-based locator network, and a replaceable battery.

One color at launch
Google is launching the Pixel Tag in a single Light Fog finish, without the colorway options some rival trackers offer at release.

Built for Android's Find Hub
The Pixel Tag is designed specifically around Android's Find Hub network rather than a cross-platform standard, so it works best for people already carrying a Pixel or other Android phone.

A long wait before it ships
Unlike the Pixel 11 and Pixel Watch 5, which reach stores on August 20, the Pixel Tag won't actually be available to buy until November 11, roughly three months after Google first showed it off.
