Oppo Enco Air 5 and Air 5s Bring Budget ANC and Long Battery Life
Oppo has added two new pairs of budget earbuds, the Oppo Enco Air 5 and the Enco Air 5s, giving buyers a choice between a traditional in-ear fit and a lighter semi-in-ear design. Both bring active noise cancellation and long battery life at an affordable price.
Two different fits
The Oppo Enco Air 5 uses a conventional in-ear shape with silicone tips for better passive noise isolation, while the Enco Air 5s is Oppo's first semi-in-ear model, swapping the tips for a lighter, more open plastic design. Each earbud is light, at roughly 4 grams. The open design of the Air 5s lets in more ambient sound, which some people prefer for walking or working, while the Air 5's sealed tips block more outside noise.
Noise cancellation and sound
Both models use 12mm dynamic drivers for their sound. The in-ear Air 5 supports up to 52dB of active noise cancellation, while the semi-in-ear Air 5s adds a real-time adaptive system that adjusts noise reduction to the fit and surroundings. A dedicated voice-cancelling system on the Air 5s also cuts nearby chatter during calls, and a 10-band equaliser in the HeyMelody app lets you tune the sound to taste.
Long battery life
Battery life is a strong point. The Air 5 lasts up to 13 hours on a charge without noise cancellation, reaching up to 54 hours with the case. The lighter Air 5s manages up to 9 hours a charge and up to 48 hours with the case, so both can go days between top-ups. That is enough for a week of commutes for many listeners before the case itself needs recharging.
Everyday features
The earbuds run on Bluetooth with multi-point connectivity, so they can stay linked to two devices at once. A low-latency mode helps with gaming and video, and both carry an IP55 rating against dust and water. The Air 5s also adds touch controls, Spotify shortcuts, and an AI translation feature.
Price and availability
Oppo is aiming these firmly at the value end of the market, with the Enco Air 5 priced at around 110 Singapore dollars, or roughly 8,000 rupees, in early markets. Both come in white and black finishes, with wider availability in other regions expected to follow.
