Samsung Galaxy Gets iPhone feature!
Samsung Galaxy users may soon see a practical improvement to how incoming and outgoing calls are presented on Android. Google is addressing a long-standing limitation in Calling Cards, a feature designed to personalise the call screen experience.
Calling Cards allow users to customise how incoming calls appear by assigning photos, colours, and fonts to contacts. While visually useful, the feature has always had a major gap: users could not control how they appeared when calling others. That inconsistency is finally being resolved.
A new option called “My Calling Card” has surfaced in the beta version of the Google Phone app, first identified by Android Authority. This addition lets users create a personal calling card that represents them during outgoing calls.
Once enabled, your selected photo, colours, and layout will be shown when you call someone—provided they haven’t already customised your contact on their own device. It’s a small change, but it fixes the core logic of the feature.
Because Samsung Galaxy phones rely on Google’s Phone app, this update will roll out directly to Galaxy devices when it exits beta. Setup is straightforward:
Phone app → Settings → Calling Cards → My Calling Card
The feature is currently limited to beta testers, but its presence suggests a public release is close. For users who make frequent calls, this brings Android closer to feature parity with iOS—without unnecessary complexity.
If you’re using a recent Samsung Galaxy phone, this update will work seamlessly once available. You can view Komodoty cases designed specifically for Samsung Galaxy devices here:
