vivo X Fold6 Pairs a 200MP Camera With a 7,000mAh Battery

The vivo X Fold6 launched in China on June 26, 2026, and it is one of the most camera-focused foldables yet, with a 200MP main sensor and support for an external zoom lens. vivo is pitching it as a foldable that doubles as a serious camera, and it has the hardware to back the claim.

A camera-first foldable
The vivo X Fold6 leads with a 200MP main camera using a large 1/1.4-inch Samsung sensor, joined by a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP Zeiss periscope telephoto with 3x zoom. vivo tuned the cameras with Zeiss, and the telephoto sensor is larger than those on several rival foldables, which helps with detail at a distance. It even supports a clip-on teleconverter lens for far greater reach, a first for vivo's foldables and rare in any phone.

A custom chip
Inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, a version of the chip that vivo tuned specifically for foldables. vivo says the two companies spent close to two years on the Super Edition, and it is paired with the company's own imaging chip for photography. vivo says it lifts AI performance sharply while using less power than the standard chip, and it marks the first time the X Fold line has dropped Qualcomm.

Big screen, big battery, thin body
Unfold the phone and you get an 8.02-inch AMOLED screen that reaches up to 5,000 nits of brightness, with a cover screen of about 6.5 inches so the phone stays usable while folded. Despite that, the vivo X Fold6 stays remarkably thin at about 4.4mm unfolded, and it still fits a large 7,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.

Durability and software
The foldable carries IP58 and IP59 ratings against dust and water, and its hinge is rated for 600,000 folds. A side-mounted fingerprint reader handles unlocking. It runs OriginOS 6 Fold on Android 16, with multitasking tools built for the large screen, including several split-view layouts you can save.

Price and availability
In China the X Fold6 starts at about 7,999 yuan, or roughly 1,175 US dollars, and vivo has confirmed a global launch will follow. It comes in several finishes, including a Black Gold edition at the top of the range.
