Our Wood

Komodoty is devoted to joining sustainable materials with advanced technology. We take pride in our environmental awareness and allow our products to reflect this.

Our FSC certified wood is sourced from all over the globe with an emphasis on quality and sustainability. Every time you buy a product we plant a tree, so you can enjoy a beautiful case that does not rob the planet, rather gives back.

Walnut (Juglans nigra) is possibly one of the most widely used woods in the world. It varies in colour from light brown to dark rich chocolate. Prized for its strength, grain and colour, it also polishes to a beautifully smooth finish. Grain is typically straight. Figured grain patterns such as curl, crotch, and burl are also seen.

Featured walnut products: Komodo Phone Case, Komodo AirPod Case & Atacama Watch.

Rosewood (Dalbergia spruceana) boasts deep reddish brown colours with darker contrasting streaks. It is highly durable and has a uniform texture with open pores.

Featured rosewood products:
Komodo Phone Case & Komodo AirPod Case.

Bamboo, technically not a wood, is part of the Poaceae (grass) family. Unlike trees bamboo grows at full width, with no horizontal tapering. Some can even grow up to three feet a day! The texture is extremely uniform and displays a pale yellow colour.

Featured bamboo products: Komodo Phone CaseKomodo AirPod Case & Sahara Watch.
Mahogany (Myroxylon balsamum) has beautiful reddish brown colours. The grain is interlocked with a medium to fine texture. Our cases often show extraordinary patterns that can be striped or ribboned. The colour tends to turn more red/purple with age.

Featured mahogany product: Komodo Phone Case.

Black apricot (Prunus armeniaca), Basswood (Tilia americana) and Ayous (Triplochiton scleroxylon) are combined to produce our charcoal wood cases. The end product is a stunningly decorative black design, with light streaks.

Featured charcoal product: Komodo Phone Case.
